AK09911C Compass

A second compass at 0x0C

Page 46 of 64 MCP / API open OTA updates

Page 46 reads an AK09911C (I²C 0x0C, 14-bit, ±4900 µT): heading in large digits, the three-axis vector on the right and a health score at the bottom.

It is not the QMC5883L from page 43 — different address (0x0C vs 0x0D) and a different register map, so the firmware keeps a separate page and the two are not interchangeable.

⚠ Boundaries & notes
  • The driver is not shared with the QMC5883L on page 43.
  • No tilt compensation, so heading drifts when tilted.
  • Motors, speakers and steel desks nearby make it jump.
